The Asylum's 2019 "mockbuster," "Monster Island," came out around the same time as "Godzilla: King of the Monsters." It's about an island called Monster Island, where a monster lives. In a way, it's the island.


This movie is about an asylum. The budget for it is the same as a big child's meal, and it uses it sparingly. It's a movie about a few people and only a few of its major characters are featured. The entire cast can be film on lunch break, so it focuses on the smaller human characters. It is a kaiju movie and that's just (blog post) how they do, so perhaps The Asylum won’t do such an awful job.
